As spotted by Tez2 on X, Rockstar Games’ next update for Red Dead Online is near after the developers updated the game’s “Red Dead Redemption 2 Title Update 1.32 Notes” page, which was initially created on March 19.
As part of the latest update, Rockstar has disabled Custom Posse and Custom Horse names, which, as per Tez2, might be a sign that Rockstar is updating the game’s profanity filter to be more in line with the updated Community Guidelines, which Rockstar rolled out earlier this year.
If this is true, then Custom Posse and Custom Horse names will still appear to you locally, but they’ll no longer show up to everyone else.
However, while a new Red Dead Online update is good news, Tez2 warns that it will be a patch and not a content update. So it’s still pretty clear that Rockstar isn’t reviving Red Dead Online anytime soon. Although Rockstar might have something more substantial in mind for Red Dead Online, possibly bringing over the BattlEye anti-cheat feature from Grand Theft Auto Online.
Many still consider Red Dead Redemption 2 one of the best-looking games out there.
For what it’s worth, this small update isn’t the only thing players can look forward to in Red Dead Online this week.
Catching three bounties until September 30 will reward you with a “brown Boutell Hat.” You’ll receive your reward within 72 hours after completing your bounties.
You also still have until September 30 to complete the following bounties and challenges to get a reward:
Completing 3 x Infamous Bounty for 3 x Potent Miracle Tonics and 50 x Split Point Repeater Ammo
Complete 1 x Legendary Bounty for 3 x Hawkmoth Bolas
Complete Bounty Hunter Daily Challenges for three days in a row for 1 x tan and black Leavitt Jacket
These rewards will conclude this month’s weekly and bounty rewards for RDO.
Regardless of whether Rockstar has something bigger planned for Red Dead Online next month, fans can look forward to the next set of bounty missions, RDO$ and XP boosts, and community-inspired outfits sometime next week.
In other Red Dead news, Rockstar keeps leaking information about the unconfirmed Red Dead Redemption Remastered PC port. The commercially successful remaster of the first Red Dead Redemption was initially released for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch last year, with PlayStation 5 exclusive enhancements.
