Popular YouTube streamer IShowSpeed, known for his energetic personality and over-the-top reactions, recently completed an epic 43-hour marathon of Red Dead Redemption 2, leaving fans stunned and the streamer himself in tears. The 19-year-old streamer, whose real name is Darren, went all out on his cowboy adventure, donning full Western attire to immerse himself in the world of Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang.
IShowSpeedâs journey through the Wild West was nothing short of dramatic, with the streamer experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions throughout his two-day playthrough.
As he approached the gameâs climactic ending, his viewers witnessed a rare moment of vulnerability from the usually boisterous content creator.
The final moments of Arthur Morganâs story left IShowSpeed visibly shaken. As the betrayal of Dutch and Micah unfolded on screen, the streamerâs reaction was raw and unfiltered. âAinât no fking way!â he exclaimed, his voice cracking with emotion. âThis sh*t is crazy, bro. These nias âtraitingâ (traitors) on me. They âtraitedâ my sh*t. They some rats, bro.â
As Arthurâs fate became clear, IShowSpeed struggled to accept the narrativeâs direction. âCome on Dutch, donât do me like that. Donât!â he pleaded, as if he could somehow change the gameâs predetermined outcome. The streamerâs connection to the character was palpable, demonstrating the power of Red Dead Redemption 2âs storytelling.
The emotional impact of the gameâs conclusion continued as Arthurâs final moments played out. IShowSpeed, clearly invested in the characterâs journey, urged Arthur to fight against his inevitable fate. âNo, I donât like that. Hell nah! Ainât no f**king dude. Ainât no way Iâm going out like that. Arthur, get up,â he implored, his words a mixture of denial and desperation.
As the credits rolled, marking the end of his 42-hour, 55-minute, and 40-second journey, IShowSpeedâs emotions overflowed. Tears welled up in his eyes as he addressed his audience, âWe did it, at 43 hours chat, we beat the game guys.â The usually animated streamer was reduced to quiet clapping, overwhelmed by the experience.
IShowSpeedâs marathon stream didnât end with Arthurâs story. He continued playing into the epilogue, following John Marstonâs post-Arthur narrative.
In a touching finale to his stream, IShowSpeed made one last pilgrimage in the game world â a visit to Arthur Morganâs grave. It was here that the streamer made a bold declaration about Red Dead Redemption 2âs place in gaming history. âRed Dead is one of the best games of all-time. This game is one of the best games of all-time,â he stated emphatically. âW game, man. The best game of all-time man.â
This marathon stream follows a trend set by fellow content creator Kai Cenat, who had also completed Red Dead Redemption 2 in April 2024. Like IShowSpeed, Cenat called the award-winning 2018 title the âbest gameâ heâs ever played.
While IShowSpeed hasnât announced his next marathon stream, speculation is already building about what game might capture his attention â and emotions â next.
Unfortunately, while the praise (and sales) continues to pour in for Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar remains laser-focused on their next big title, Grand Theft Auto 6. Itâs unclear if Rockstar will revisit the Wild West anytime soon, but itâs highly likely that weâll have to wait out the current console generation before we see what kind of journey awaits us in the next Red Dead title.
