In this Photoshop Tip, I’m going to show you how to easily crop and resize an image using the dimensions and resolution of another.
We will use an amazing little-known feature within The Crop Tool.

How To Use The Crop Tool’s Front Image Command
- Open Both Images
Open the two documents in Photoshop.
- Go to the Image Whose Dimensions You Want to Copy
Go to the tab that contains the image whose size and resolution you would like to copy.
- Select the Crop Tool and Choose “Front Image” from the Crop Size Menu.
From the Toolbar, select the Crop Tool. In the Options bar, click on the drop-down, and select “Front Image.” The “Front Image” command will copy the dimensions and resolution of the current photo onto the Crop Tool.
- Go to the Second Document, and Crop Your Image.
The Crop Tool will be active with the dimensions and resolution of the first image. No matter how large or small you make your crop, the result will always be the dimensions and resolution that you set on the Front Image!
